Robin Hood House

Miranda Mead is the registered manager at Robin Hood House. She joined Benslow care homes in 2018. Miranda has been working in care for a number of years and has made a tremendous difference to Robin Hood House in her first year, redecorating a number of bedrooms, installing a new state of the art bathroom and updating the communal areas.

Robin Hood House has been awarded dementia accreditation by Hertfordshire county council for providing dementia care over and above the county standard. Located in the National Trust estate of Ashridge, just a short drive away from the towns of Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and Dunstable.

  • 22 Bedrooms, some large enough for sharing companions
  • 2 sitting rooms
  • quiet seating area
  • 2 dining rooms
  • patio doors opening onto a secure and safe landscaped sensory garden
  • TV point in all bedrooms
  • 24 hour call bell in all bedrooms

The house dates back, in part, to the 16th century exuding character and charm. The staff hail from the local area and a family atmosphere abounds. Home cooked meals are served every day in one of the intimate dining rooms and a number of different lounges are available for the residents to use.

The grounds and surrounding countryside are a big part of the attraction for people to this home. Families can cross the road to the Ashridge forest and walk for miles through Capability Brown designed Beech woods, up to the Ashridge monument and beyond. For those wishing to stay a little closer to home, a dementia friendly garden was completed in 2013, which allows residents and their families the opportunity to relax and reflect in beautiful surroundings whilst also being safe and secure.
