About Us
Benslow operates 4 residential homes, one of which is a nursing home, all providing care for older people with dementia, based in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Benslow is a leading independent provider of residential dementia care. Working in close partnership with local authorities and PCTs the company draws on over 28 years of experience to provide tailor-made service solutions for people living with dementia and their families.
History
Benslow is a family run business founded in 1982 by Steve and Sue McQuinn who were born, grew up, married and still live in Hertfordshire. They founded Benslow Management to provide quality care for the elderly. The business slowly grew to the present four homes. Because of their long experience in caring for the elderly when asked to provide dementia care they easily identified the huge differing compliances that would be required to properly look after people living with dementia. Staff are trained in all aspects of dementia care. Managers are recruited fit for purpose and trained to a high standard. They now only accommodate those service users diagnosed with dementia as they soon discovered trying to make those without dementia live alongside those with was really difficult for both the service user and their family and friends.

Benslow operates 4 residential homes for older people with dementia based in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We provide over 3000 hours of care and support every week. We approach our work with the key objective we can help people retain their independence accommodate there condition and live life to the full.
Staff who genuinely care
As with all our care homes, staff are chosen just as much for their compassionate and caring natures as for their qualifications and experience. To ensure each individual’s needs and personal choices are fully met, their care plan is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Every resident is appointed their own key worker, who works closely with them, their family and friends, to make sure individual preferences are always understood.
